action against them.
Russia launched a massive airstrike on Ukraine's energy sector.
Law
and Justice Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Division
Ahad Khan Cheema, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and representatives of
security forces will be members of the task force.
Chairing
a high-level meeting to review the law and order situation, the Prime Minister
also decided to set up a Federal Law Control Force to prevent future attempts
to spread chaos and violence in the country.
This
force will be professionally trained as per international standards and
equipped with necessary equipment. Besides, the meeting also decided to set up
a Federal Forensic Lab which will use modern technology to investigate such
incidents and collect evidence.
Apart
from strengthening the Federal Prosecution Service, it was also decided to
modernize the Islamabad Safe City project. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif pointed
out that Pakistan is moving towards stability and development, adding that the
enemies of the country’s development will never succeed in their nefarious
intentions. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is a land of brave and
proud people. “The handful of obstacles do not represent the honorable and
dignified Pashtun community,” the Prime Minister said, adding that the
aggression of November 24 was rejected by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and
all Pakistanis.
Turkey detained hundreds of people after anti-Syrian riots.
He
stressed that it is everyone’s responsibility to stop such nefarious efforts to
protect the country and its economic and national security.
‘Pakistan’s
image tarnished everywhere’
In
addition, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday urged the country’s
civil and military leadership to devise a strategy to prevent a repeat of the
PTI’s attack on Islamabad, which aims to sabotage the hard-won peace and
economic stability.
Pakistan’s
image has been tarnished everywhere. This is the third to fourth attack on the
federal capital by the PTI in the last eight months. Before 2014, there was no
concept of such nefarious acts and designs. "It started with a 126-day
long sit-in in 2014 that damaged the economy and the country's image," the
prime minister said. The meeting was attended by members of the federal
cabinet, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff (COAS)
General Syed Asim Munir, along with other senior government officials and
officers of law enforcement agencies. Terming the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as a
"movement of nearness", the prime minister rebuked its leadership for
repeatedly sabotaging the hard-won peace, economic stability and heavy foreign
investment in the federal capital. The country
“The
national economy has once again suffered a major setback as according to a
conservative estimate, such protests are costing the national economy Rs190
billion per day. The impact on exports, imports, production, services, private
businesses, government and private offices is huge,” Prime Minister Shehbaz
Sharif said.
He
reiterated that a mob from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) attacked the federal capital
with all the public resources of the KP provincial government, firing on law
enforcement agencies, injuring people and damaging infrastructure in the
capital. If the enemies of the country are bent on sabotaging the peace and
prosperity of the country. Will we lie down like a lame duck and allow them to
get away with everything? This should be the last thing we should imagine in
our distant imagination. We should make every effort to thwart such nefarious
designs to harm the nation because these opportunities do not come again,” the
Prime Minister said.
He
said that the P The TI-led government has to reduce inflation from 32% to 7%,
policy rate from 22% to 15% and friendly countries are interested in investing
in Pakistan because the party only wants to take everything back. The senior
leadership of the federal government, COAS and their entire team are here. Time
and tide wait for no one. This (PTI) is not a political party but a group of
instigators and saboteurs and miscreants against whom action should be taken as
per the law.

It
is our national duty to expose them and if this is not done, history will judge
us in a very bad light and future generations will not forgive us,” the prime
minister said. Terming KP as a “beautiful” province, its people are very brave,
strong and patriotic, he stressed on focusing on developmental measures for
them.
He
said that the recent killings in KP’s Parachinar city were a covert move to
undermine the peace of the country but it was painful to see the KP
government’s indifference to the situation.
He
said that a policeman and four Rangers personnel were martyred while dozens of
police officers and constables were injured in violence by a group of PTI
miscreants in Islamabad.
The
Prime Minister reiterated that the visit of the Chinese President was postponed
due to the PTI’s 126-day sit-in in 2014 and was rescheduled after 7 months in
April 2015 after numerous attempts.
The
Prime Minister also recalled the PTI’s attempts to sabotage the SCO conference
held in Islamabad and damage Pakistan-Saudi brotherly relations through
baseless propaganda by the party leadership.
He
said that the latest PTI protest failed to impact the visit of the Belarusian
President as the foreign dignitary successfully completed his three-day visit
and also attended the lunch hosted by Nawaz Sharif in Murree.
Noting
the participation of the Rangers personnel who were martyred while controlling
the violence of saboteurs at the GHQ in the funeral prayers, the Prime Minister
thanked Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Secretary Home, IG Islamabad Police and
LEA as well as the Chief Justice. Ministers from Sindh and Punjab supported the
federal government in dealing with the violence.

Highlighting
the government’s achievements on the economic front, he said that indicators
are gradually improving and macroeconomic stability is being seen in the
economy as the Pakistan Stock Exchange crossed its highest ever trading volume
which was earlier achieved during the Nawaz Sharif government.
The
participants of the meeting also offered Fateha led by the COAS for the
security personnel who were martyred during the PTI protests.
Meanwhile,
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik while
talking to The Nation said that the federal government is seriously considering
imposing Governor’s Rule in KP for sixty days.
Mr.
Malik said that the government’s allies are being taken into confidence on the
matter.
He
also said that if the KP Assembly does not pass the resolution, the federal
government can call a joint session of parliament to approve Governor’s rule in
KP and this option is being seriously considered. He revealed that in the
meeting chaired by the Prime Minister yesterday, the participants were in
agreement on the recommendation of Governor’s rule in KP, but he added that all
legal aspects and the consent of allies will be obtained before taking a final
decision.
